Q: Are the fees I pay for consulting and team training tax-deductible?
Yes. In nearly all cases, fees paid to bring in an outside consultant to train your team and improve your business operations are fully deductible as a business expense. They fall under IRC §162(a), which allows a deduction for the "ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred in carrying on a trade or business." Operational consulting and staff training are a textbook example.
Q: How much can I deduct?
